Lorenz-like systems

Introduction

Many dynamical systems can be considered as Lorenz-like systems, that is, as producing chaotic attractors topologically equivalent to those solution to the Lorenz system. For all the systems described in this section, two different attractors will be shown when identified : one is topologically equivalent to the Lorenz attractor and one is topologically equivalent to the Burke’n Shaw attractor. The dynamics of these Lorenz-like systems were investigated in C. Letellier, T. Tsankov, G. Byrne & R. Gilmore, Large-scale structural reorganization of strange attractors, Physical Review E, 72, 026212, 2005 and more recently by C. Lainscsek, A class of Lorenz-like systems, Chaos, 22, 013126, 2012.
